Your domain belongs to you, and you can move it to any other provider. For that the new provider needs the AuthInfo code of the domain, which you request yourself in the admin.
Request the AuthInfo
- Open My Package → Domains (admin.hpage.com/app/booking/domains).
- In the row of the domain click the Request AuthInfo button (the icon with the two arrows) and confirm the dialog.
- You see the message that a new AuthInfo has been requested and that it may take a few minutes to be displayed. Reload the page after a short while: the code then appears in the AuthInfo column, with a copy button next to it. We also e-mail it to the domain owner's address.
- Give the code to your new provider and order the transfer there. The new provider starts the move; you do not have to do anything else at hPage.
The AuthInfo is valid for 30 days. If the transfer has not been requested within that time, simply request a new code.
Make sure the domain is not renewed
Domains renew automatically for another year unless they are terminated at least 14 days before the end of the current domain year. The transfer itself does not cancel the booking, so terminate the domain in the admin once the move is under way:
- Under My Package → Domains click Terminate Domain in the row of the domain.
- For a .de domain choose Expire as the termination type. That way the domain remains yours even if the transfer should take longer than the remaining term. For other extensions the domain stays active at hPage until the end of its period anyway.
- Enter your current password and click Terminate Domain.
Until the end of the period the domain keeps working at hPage and the termination can be undone with Revoke Termination. More on what happens afterwards: What happens when a domain is deleted?
If the AuthInfo does not appear or the new provider reports that the code is wrong, contact our support with the domain name.
