Right after you sign up, hPage sends an e-mail with a confirmation link to the address you entered. Until you click that link, your website is visible to you but not to visitors.
Where to find the e-mail
The e-mail is sent immediately after the sign-up. It has the subject "ACTION REQUIRED: hPage - Your registration" and contains one link. Click it, and your address is confirmed. The link is valid for 120 hours (5 days).
How the admin shows the open task
As long as the address is not confirmed, the dashboard (Home) shows:
- the task "Confirm your e-mail address." in the tile Tasks To Do,
- the status "Not publicly accessible (E-Mail Confirmation required)" on the website tile, together with the button Resend confirmation e-mail.
Visitors who open your address see the message "The website that you want to request is not published yet." in the meantime.
The e-mail has not arrived
- Check the spam or junk folder of your mailbox and search it for "hPage".
- Check the address you entered: open the Account Options menu (user icon, top right) → Account. The section E-Mail shows the address of your account.
- Request a new e-mail with Resend confirmation e-mail, either in that section or on the website tile on Home. Then wait a few minutes; some mail providers deliver with a delay.
- If the address contains a typo, enter the correct address under E-Mail Address on the same page and save. The confirmation e-mail is then sent to the new address. See also Change e-mail address.
The link has expired
A link older than 5 days no longer works. Simply request a new one with Resend confirmation e-mail and click the link in the newest e-mail.
After the confirmation
The task disappears from Tasks To Do. If you use a Free package, one more step is needed before visitors can see your website: the mobile number verification. When both steps are done, the website tile shows the status "Public". The article Website not publicly accessible explains all status messages.
