Images are placed inside a text element of the content editor. You can upload them while editing, pick them from the file manager or drag them into the editor.
Insert an image
- Open the page under Pages → Manage Pages with Edit Page Content and click into the text element where the image should go (or add a Standard element first).
- Click the image button Images in the text toolbar. The dialog offers three ways:
- Upload: upload a new image from your computer. It is stored in your file manager at the same time.
- File Manager: select an image you have already uploaded under Files → Upload Files.
- Image Url: paste the address of an image that is already online and click Insert.
- The image appears at the cursor position.
Adjust the image
Click the image in the editor. A small toolbar lets you remove the image, add a link to it (Add / Edit Link) and open the Image Settings:
- Alternative Text: shown when the image cannot be loaded, and read by screen readers and search engines. Worth filling in.
- Tooltip Text: shown when the mouse rests on the image.
- Display: left, centred or right on its own line, left or right with the text flowing around it, or inline within the text line.
- Size: width and height in pixels. Leave one of them empty to keep the proportions.
- Border: border, rounded corners, inner and outer spacing.
Close the settings and save the page with Save & Continue or Save & Finish.
Good to know
- Images may be up to 7 MB each; typical formats are JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG (WebP is not supported). On upload hPage can compress the image, see upload files and supported file types.
- Storage space: 300 MB in the Free package, 10 GB with Premium, see storage space.
- For many images at once use the Gallery addon instead of single images, see image gallery.
- If an upload fails, see image upload does not work.
