With the Galleries addon you present your photos as a listing with thumbnails or as a slideshow. A gallery shows the images of one folder of your files, so you can create as many galleries as you like.
Create the gallery
- Open Addons → Galleries in the sidebar and click Create a new gallery.
- Enter a Gallery Title.
- Under Gallery Folder choose New folder to get a folder of its own for this gallery (recommended), or Existing folder if the images are already in a folder of your file manager.
- Choose the Gallery Type: Listing shows thumbnails on the page, Slideshow shows one image after the other. For a listing you can set the Number of images per page.
- Set the Sorting criterion (Name, Creation Date or Own order) and the Sorting direction. With Own order you arrange the images yourself by drag & drop.
- Under Opening of images keep Lightbox (recommended) or choose New Window.
- Tick Add a menu element to my website. if the gallery should get its own page and menu entry right away. Then save.
Upload and arrange the images
After saving you land on the Images page of the gallery (you can also open it later with Manage Images in the gallery list):
- Drop your images into the upload area or click it to choose them. They are added to the folder of the gallery. Each image can have up to 7 MB; see upload files for the supported formats.
- Enter a Caption (optional) under an image if you like.
- Drag an image to move it. If the gallery is sorted by name or date, dragging switches it to your own order.
- Delete image removes the image from the gallery and from your files.
Show the gallery on a page
If you did not choose the menu element option, place the gallery on a page of your choice:
- Open Pages → Manage Pages and click Edit Page Content at the page.
- Click Add Element (Addon), open the group Addons and click Gallery.
- In the settings of the element choose your gallery under Select Gallery.
- Click Save & Finish.
