Addons are ready-made building blocks for your website: a guestbook, picture galleries, a contact form, a blog and more. You set each addon up under Addons in the sidebar and then place it on any page with the content editor.
All addons at a glance
Open Addons in the sidebar to see one card per addon. Addons that are not part of your package are marked Included in Premium.
Available in every package:
- Contact Form: visitors send you messages right from your website (custom fields are Premium).
- Galleries: present your photos in picture galleries.
- Gimmicks: little extras such as falling snow or an analog clock.
- Guestbook: visitors leave greetings and comments for you.
- Intro: a welcome page your visitors see before your website.
- Link List: recommend links to other websites; visitors can suggest more.
- Polls: ask your visitors for their opinion.
- Shoutbox: short messages from your visitors, like a little chat.
- Sitemap: an overview of all your pages for your visitors.
Included in Premium:
- Blog: write articles and let your visitors comment on them.
- Calendar: show your visitors upcoming events and appointments.
- Member Area: pages that only your registered members can see.
- Newsletter: send news to your subscribers by e-mail.
- Password Protection: only visitors with the password can see your website.
- Pinboard: visitors pin notes and pictures to your pinboard.
If you want to use one of the Premium addons, you can upgrade to Premium at any time.
How an addon gets onto a page
Most addons are shown on a page of your choice. You add them as an element in the content editor:
- Open Pages → Manage Pages and click Edit Page Content at the page you want to use. You can also add a new page for the addon first.
- Click Add Element (Addon) in the toolbar of the editor, or Add Element after at an existing element.
- In the Elements window open the group Addons and click the addon, for example Guestbook.
- Some addons ask for a detail right away: which gallery to show, which blog category, or which member area feature. Choose it in the settings of the new element.
- Click Save & Finish. The addon is now visible on your website.
Manage the content of an addon
Entries that visitors write (guestbook entries, blog comments, pinboard notes, link suggestions, new members) are managed under Addons in the respective addon. The cards on the Addons overview and the tasks on your dashboard tell you when new entries are waiting for you.
