Two safety nets protect your content: page versions keep the previous states of a page, and deleted pages stay restorable for a while. Both belong to the Premium package.
Page versions
Every time you save a page, the version before is kept. hPage stores up to 50 versions per page; the oldest ones are dropped after that.
View versions
- Click Pages → Manage Pages and then the history icon View Versions at the page.
- The list shows the Current Version and every Earlier version with the date (Saved on) and the Content Length, including how much the length changed compared with the version before.
- View Version (eye icon) opens an earlier version next to the current one. Switch between Preview and HTML, or open it In the website design in a new tab.
Restore a version
Click Restore Version in the list or Restore this version in the version view and confirm with Restore. The title, content and head HTML of that version become the current state of the page; the URL stays as it is. Restoring counts as a save, so the state you replaced is kept as a version too and nothing is lost.
Deleted pages
When you delete a page under Pages → Manage Pages, it moves to Pages → Deleted Pages (open) and is kept there for a limited number of days; the confirmation dialog tells you how long. After that it is removed permanently.
- Click Pages → Deleted Pages. The list shows the name, content length, creation date and deletion date of each page.
- View Deleted Page (eye icon) shows its content. Restore deleted page brings the page back; confirm with Restore.
- If the page had menu elements, the admin area offers to put them back into your menu: Add to menu or Not now.
Without Premium
In the Free package the delete dialog shows "Deleted pages can be restored with Premium." Versions and the restoring of deleted pages become available as soon as you upgrade to Premium.
