Own e-mail addresses

Set up e-mail addresses at your own domain with the Premium package, read mail in the webmailer or in your mail program, and use forwardings and autoresponders.

With a Premium package and your own domain you can use e-mail addresses such as info@yourname.com. The package includes five e-mail addresses and one mailbox. You manage everything under E-Mail in the sidebar (admin.hpage.com/app/email).

Addresses and mailboxes

An e-mail address is the name people write to. A mailbox is where the mail is stored and what you log in to. An address can deliver into a mailbox, forward to another address, or both. Several addresses can share one mailbox.

The E-Mail section has the tabs Manage E-Mail Addresses, Manage Mailboxes, Whitelist & Blacklist and the link Open Webmailer. E-mail is only available once your website has a domain; without one the section asks you to register a domain first.

Create a mailbox

  1. Open E-Mail → Manage Mailboxes and click Create new mailbox.
  2. Fill in Username, Password and Repeat Password and save.

The mailbox list shows the Quota of each mailbox and lets you change the password later with Edit Mailbox Password.

Create an e-mail address

  1. Open E-Mail → Manage E-Mail Addresses and click Create new e-mail address.
  2. Type the part before the @ and choose the domain. Allowed are letters (a–z), digits, dots, hyphens and underscores, no spaces or umlauts.
  3. A new address cannot receive anything yet. On its page choose Assign a mailbox and pick your mailbox, or Add forwarding e-mail address to forward incoming mail to another address (for example your existing private address). You can combine both.

Each address has the tabs Mailboxes, Forwardings and Autoresponders. An autoresponder sends an automatic reply with a subject and message, optionally only between a start and an end date, which is handy for holidays.

Read and send e-mail

  • Webmailer: click Open Webmailer or go to webmailer.hpage.com and log in with the mailbox username and password.
  • Mail program or phone (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and others): open the address under Manage E-Mail Addresses and look at Credentials (e.g. for Outlook) in the Mailboxes tab. It lists the IMAP, POP3 and SMTP servers with their ports; the login is the mailbox username with the mailbox password. Use IMAP if you read mail on more than one device.
